Digital music recordings are delivered in MIDI format. MIDI recordings offer you the ultimate in flexibility. Once you have a MIDI file, you can playback your recording at any tempo and in any key using any popular MIDI sequencing software. Bonus tracks are designed to allow you to practice your solo at different tempi; but MIDI files allow you to set any tempo you want, eliminating the need for bonus "tracks".

Orchestra tuning refers to standard orchestral tuning E A D G (low to high). Solo tuning refers to standard solo tuning F# B E A (low to high). Much of the standard solo literature for the double bass was composed for an instrument in solo tuning. With the advent of steel strings switching between the two tunings required changing the string which is sometime impractical and always expensive. Getting a piano part in orchestra tuning gives the player the flexibility to choose whether or not to use solo tuning.
